Credit Transfer: Getting it right!

10 July 2019
ONLINE

You asked and here it is!
Based on Velg Training’s most common enquiries received and your feedback, this session aims to demystify Credit Transfer.

Do you need some help understanding the why and how of Credit Transfer? Join John Dwyer for this brand-new webinar as he explains some of the nuances associated with this recognition process.

A key pillar of the national VET system is that nationally endorsed qualifications, skill sets and units of competency are recognised and portable across the country—regardless of where they were issued. Students must not be required to repeat any unit or module in which they have already been assessed as competent, unless a regulatory requirement or licence condition (including an industry licensing scheme) requires this. If a student provides suitable evidence they have successfully completed a unit or module at any RTO, your RTO must provide credit for the unit or module. Users Guide to the Standards for RTOs, 2015. Clause 3.5

Key topics covered within the webinar

This webinar explores the implications of this statement and will answer the following common questions:

  • What is Credit Transfer as opposed to Recognition of Prior Learning, and how are they both linked to recognition?
  • Where does Credit Transfer fit into the Standards for RTOs 2015?
  • Why is authentication important and what does it involve?
  • Can USI transcripts be used to authenticate credit transfer?
  • What if credit transfer is sought for a superseded unit?
  • What policies and procedure are required?
  • What information is given to students?
