Registration/Refunds

Q. When can I register for the 2021 QLD Schools VET Conference?
A. Registrations are now open for the 2021 QLD Schools VET Conference, please click here to register.

Q. When do registrations for the 2021 QLD Schools VET Conference close?
A. Registrations for the 2021 QLD Schools VET Conference will close at 11:59pm on Friday 16 July 2021.

Q. Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend the conference on the day?
A. Cancellations received and acknowledged at least 30 days prior to the commencement of any conference will be entitled to a refund less an administration fee of 20% of the registration fees paid. No refunds will be provided if cancellation is made within 30 days of any conference, however, a substitute delegate will be welcome upon written notice to events@velgtraining.com.

Q. I have registered for the Qld Schools Conference, however, I am unable to attend, can I send someone in my place?
A. Yes you can. Please note however that all name changes for the event need to been submitted in writing to Velg Training no later than COB Friday 16 July 2021 to ensure that the personalised name badge reflects the new attendee details. If the 'name change' is not received by this date, the attendee will not receive a personalised name badge, but rather a generic badge that will include a label attachment.

Q. Can I do a walk-in registration?
A. Absolutely, please see a Velg Training Member at the Velg Training Registration Desk to arrange your registration for the conference.

Group Discounts

Q. There are a number of staff at my organisation that want to attend the QLD Schools VET Conference, can I receive a volume discount?
A. Yes, group discounts are available when registering multiple attendees for this event. If five or more attendees are registered for an event, a discount of 5% will apply. This will apply for up to and including nine attendees. If 10 or more attendees are registered for an event, a discount of 10% will apply. Please email conference@velgtraining.com if you have any questions regarding group discounts.

Dietary Requirements

Q. If I have supplied special dietary requirements where would I locate them?
A.  All dietary requirements are located on the clearly marked catering station located outside the Plaza Terrace.

Q. I forgot to advise of my dietary requirement?
A. Please speak to a Velg Training staff member to see if the venue is able to accommodate your dietary requirement.

General

Q. Where do I go when I arrive at the venue?
A.  When you arrive at the venue, you are able to find the Velg Training Registration Desk in the main foyer area on the Plaza link level in front of the Plaza Terrace rooms.

Q: What is the COVID-19 Safe Plan for the Brisbane Convention Centre.
A. The Venue has developed a BCEC Safe Event Guideline available for download here

Q. Do you have a Cloak Room?
A..Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre have closed their cloakrooms due to the high touch points of items being stored to minimise the possibility of transmission of COVID-19 for their staff and guests.

Q. Will there be coffee facilities?
A. Coffee and Tea will be available during the session breaks

Q. Can you give me a delegate listing?
A. No, unfortunately for privacy reasons we are unable to release our delegate listing.

Q. How do I provide feedback on the conference?
A. You will receive Electronic Resources within a week of the commencement of the 2021 QLD Schools VET Conference, which includes a link to the event Feedback Survey.

Q. Where can I find a First Aid Kit?
A. Please find a BCEC Security Officer and they will be able to provide you with a First Aid Kit.

Q. I would like to interact with my peers at the conference via social media, will there be wireless internet available?
A. Yes, Velg Training has arranged for access to free Wireless Internet for all conference attendees. Username - Velg Training Password - Velg Training

Q. Do I need to carry the lanyard with me?
A.Yes, you need to wear your lanyard at all times as this will grant you access to all areas of the Qld Schools Conference.

Q. Can I make a name change on the day of the conference?
A.Yes, please visit the Registration Desk and a Velg Training staff member will be able to arrange for a name change for you. Please note that if changes are made to your name or organisation on the day, this will mean a label being made to stick onto your name tag.

Q. What do I do if my name has been spelt incorrectly?
A. Please visit a Velg Training staff member at the Registration Desk to have your name tag amended with a label.

Q. Where can I find a copy of the program?
A. A copy of the program can be found in your satchel bag. 

Q. Is there parking at the Brisbane Convention Centre?
A. There are 1,500 undercover parking spaces available at the Centre, accessed by Merivale Street.

Entry heights are as follows: Car Park one: 2.3m, Car Park two: 2.2m (Merivale St) or 2.1m (Russell St Ramp) or 2.2m (Melbourne St), Car Park three: 2m (Merivale Street) or 2.1m (Grey St).

Q. Is there a Pharmacy near the Conference Centre?
A. Yes, there is a Pharmacy in walking distance from the BECE, which is called, West End Discount Drug Store and the address is, 10/69-79 Boundary St, South Brisbane QLD 4101.

Q. I have registered for the Qld Schools Conference, however, I am unable to attend, can I send someone in my place?
A. Yes you can. Q. Will I receive a Statement of Attendance for my professional development records?
A. Yes, provided that you do attend the Qld Schools Conference. Statements of Attendance are sent out along with your resources the week following the conference.

Q. Where can I get a taxi from?
A. A dedicated taxi rank is located at the main entrance of the Centre on the Cnr Merivale and Glenelg Streets. Taxis are also accessible in other locations in the South Bank precinct including the 2 hotels – Rydges and Mantra. 

Q. Where are the toilets located?
A. Multiple toilets are located at the venue and are clearly marked.

Q. Is there wheelchair access?
A. Yes, the BECE has wheelchair access throughout the venue. There are signs which highlight where the lifts are located.

Q. When can I bump in and bump out?
A.  Bump in 6:30am - 8:00am Friday 6 August 2021
       Bump out 3:00pm - 5:00pm Friday 6 August 2021

Q. Can I bump out early?
A. Bump out can occur from 3:00 pm once afternoon tea has finished. You are able to bump out from that time, however, please note that the conference does conclude until 4:00 pm.

Q. Do you have a Cloak Room?
A. Yes, we will have a cloakroom available for all attendees, which is located next to the BCEC Information Desk in the main foyer.

Q. I have special dietary requirements, where are my meals?
A. All dietary requirements are located on the clearly marked catering station located outside the Plaza Terrace.

A. All freight will be delivered to your allocated table. Please make sure you clearly mark your freight with your organisation name using our Exhibitor Freight Label.

A. Sponsors receive one satchel bag per booth which includes a program. If you would like an additional program, please visit the Velg Training booth and a Velg Training staff member can assist you with this.

Q. I am a Booth Monitor, can I access presentations?
A. Unfortunately because you have not paid for full access to the QLD Schools Conference, you are unable to attend any conference sessions.

Q. Where can I get a taxi from?

Q. What is the cancellation policy for Sponsorship?
A. Cancellations must be made in writing to, and acknowledged by Velg Training. Refunds will only be granted if notice of cancellation of sponsorship is given by no later than 9 July 2021. Cancellation received before this date will be entitled to a full refund, less an administration fee of 10% of the total sponsorship option chosen. After this date, no refunds will apply.

Q. Who is responsible for Trade giveaways?
A. All prize giveaways to be conducted at the 2021 Queensland School VET Conference will be the sole responsibility of the sponsoring organisation. Velg Training will accept no responsibility for prize donations.

 Q. Is there a Networking Function?
A. Based on Participant feedback, this event will not include a Networking Function. However, the Morning and Afternoon Tea breaks have been extended from their traditional 20 minutes to 30 minutes each.

Q. What happens in the events that the Conference/Exhibition/Event is cancelled or delayed through no fault of Velg Training?
A. In the event that the Conference/Exhibition/Event is cancelled or delayed through no fault Velg Training and/or the venue operator including but not limited to fire, flood, labour disputes, natural disasters, acts of God(s), government directions, civil disorders, riots, insurrections, work stoppages, slowdowns or disputes, or other similar events then the Exhibitor/Sponsor shall not be entitled to any refund or claim for any loss or damage.
