Access and Equity

‘Access and Equity’ is a principle designed to encourage all learners and ensure they are given equal opportunities to training and its outcomes.

Regulators

VET regulators are independent bodies working to uphold the quality of VET delivered in Australia. They perform a number of functions including the registration of RTOs and subsequent monitoring of their operations for compliance with relevant standards.

System Basics

‘System Basics’ gives a break-down of the interconnected functions, frameworks and entities in Australia’s VET sector.

Records Management

Records management is an important activity in an RTO as it ensures that records are created, stored securely and preserved for as long as they are needed.

eLearning

eLearning is the delivery of online learning and assessment and, whilst this method of learning has been around for some time, it has, in recent times, become a more essential blended learning component. For information and guidance on how to navigate the online training terrain and apply eLearning strategies across your own programs, you are here provided with a range of webinar topics and links which will guide you, enhance your understanding and dispel any fears you may have when transferring your skills from one platform to another.

Other Organisations

Within the VET sector there are a number of peak industry bodies that exist to provide advice, support and PD opportunities to VET practitioners.

Key Organisations

There are a number of key organisations in Australia’s National VET System, including those that develop, deliver, regulate and research VET in Australia.

State-based Funding

Funding is available from State and Territory governments to approved RTOs for delivery of VET.

State-based Awards Programs

There are awards to recognise the achievements of individuals and organisations in VET at a state and territory level.

Student Files

RTOs must collect and keep information on their students’ learning activities. Considerations include the creation, maintenance, storage and access requirements associated with those files.

Reasonable Adjustment

RTOs have an obligation to assist learners who may need some flexibility in training and assessment so that their individual needs can be met.
