Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

A Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is any training provider listed on the national register to provide specific training delivery and/or assessment services in VET.

Training Package Development

When Training Packages are developed and/or maintained, various organisations are involved in the process to ensure occupational skills are delivered to the particular standards required by specific industries.

Training and Accreditation Council (TAC)

The Training Accreditation Council (TAC) is the body responsible for regulating RTOs in Western Australia.

Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS)

A TAS is a framework that identifies the structure for the way in which a training product is delivered to learners and the way assessment will occur.

Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015

These Standards are the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. These Standards form part of the VET Quality Framework, a system which ensures the integrity of nationally recognised qualifications. RTOs are required to comply with these Standards.

Assessment Tools

An ‘assessment tool’ is defined as both “the instrument(s) and procedures used to gather and interpret evidence of competence”.

Working Under Supervision

When a Registered Training Organisation employs someone who is not a trainer and assessor to deliver and assess training, specific working arrangements, qualifications and other compliance requirements must be considered and applied. This is part of ‘Working Under Supervision’.
