![]() | About the Presenter:Melanie Alexandra has held a variety of roles across both the academic and vocational education sectors including that of Trainer and Assessor, Curriculum Manager, RTO Manager, Head of Faculty, Head of Quality Assurance, and Senior Lead Auditor.Over the past decade, Melanie has conducted hundreds of regulatory audits and registrations against the current legislated VET Quality Framework and now provides quality VET audit and compliance consulting services in support of Registered Training Organisations and providers of VET in Schools. Melanie is also the developer and facilitator of Velg Training’s Velg2Go online course content and a Consultant in her own right. 9.00am - 9.45am | Being a Competent Trainer and AssessorRegister Now(Clauses 1.13a, 1.14, 1.15, 1.18a, 1.18b, 1.23a, 1.23b, 1.24b) | This session focuses specifically on the mandatory competence that a qualified trainer and assessor must either have or be able to demonstrate in order to train and assess nationally recognised training products. |
10.15 am - 11.00am | Maintaining Vocational/Industry CurrencyRegister Now(Clause 1.13b) | This session discusses the requirement to maintain currency as a trainer and/or assessor of a nationally recognised training product, in line with the vocational/industry training area being delivered and assessed. It also explores ways in which vocational/industry currency can be maintained |
11.30am - 12.15pm | Maintaining Trainer and Assessor CurrencyRegister Now(Clause 1.13c and 1.16) | This session looks at ways in which individuals can maintain current levels of skill and knowledge as a trainer and assessor of nationally recognised training products, irrespective of the vocational subject area being delivered and assessed. |
1.15pm - 2.00pm | Demonstrating, Recording and Approving Evidence of Competence and CurrencyRegister Now(1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16, 1.18, 1.23, 1.24 and 2.2a) | This session seeks to pull together a collection of evidence covered within the previous three Speed Training sessions. It looks at ways of gathering that evidence, recording it within associated documents such as a trainer and assessor profile, professional development record etc and discusses the essential role played by the RTO in approving that evidence prior to delivery and/or assessment taking place. |
