Fact Sheets

Quick links to a range of handy Fact Sheets about the VET Sector

AQTF Framework - Victoria only

Before the introduction of the Standards for RTOs 2015, the AQTF outlined compliance requirements for the registration and operation of RTOs in Australia. Now, the AQTF (in conjunction with the ‘2016 VRQA Guidelines for VET Providers’) is only used by RTOs under the jurisdiction of the VRQA.

Informing Learners

Information for prospective learners must be clear, current and factual. Timing and methods of delivering this information should also be considered.

Third Party and Partnership Arrangements

RTOs are responsible for all services delivered on their behalf, therefore should have written third-party or partnership agreements in place to monitor all parties’ compliance with the Standards.

Coversheets

Coversheets are an essential component of an assessment tool and serve as a way to capture and record important information.

Certification

Certification is formal confirmation of a person’s competency, this means there must be steps taken to maintain the integrity of an RTO’s processes for issuing this official documentation.

Checklists

Checklists can be designed for almost any purpose and are effective tools for recording assessment judgements.

Assessment Systems

Strategies, practices, policies and procedures combine to make up an RTO’s assessment system.

Quality Assurance (Self Assurance & Auditing)

Quality Assurance gives confidence that the quality requirements of a product or service are being fulfilled. All RTOs should ensure their operations are quality assured so that quality VET delivery is maintained.

Recruitment

Recruitment is about finding the right people with the right experience, qualifications and attitude to help the business succeed.

Moderation

Moderation is an activity aimed at bringing assessment judgements into alignment and is a quality control process.

Framework for Foundation Skills

Foundation skills refer to the core capabilities required for effective workplace and community participation, and include language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and employability skills.
