How to Help Students Struggling with their Course (2020/2021)

10 February 2021
ONLINE

Are Any of Your Students Struggling with the Course? What they wished they learned at school but never did. And how you can help!

Often students come into vocational education and training with little, to no, idea about the theoretical requirements of courses.  When this happens, it is not uncommon for students to struggle with providing appropriate responses to assessment tasks.  As educators we have a golden opportunity to ensure every student is fully equipped with the skills needed to be a successful participant in VET.

Feedback from 2020 says you want PD that helps you with students who might not be doing so well.  This session (also run in 2020) was rated 4.4/5 stars and provided attendees with: "Some good practical strategies...to explore why a student is struggling and how to then engage and help them"  C.Harding

Here's what else attendees had to say in response to the question, What were the positive aspects of this training:
- "Fascinating subject presented helpfully and engagingly"  R Gould
- "the process of stepping through the important themes and developing the solutions we could apply with our students" & "I liked how this webinar concentrated on student psychology and tools we can use to assist them, as many other webinars concentrate on the mechanics of training &/or assessment"  L Gibbs
- "Provided great strategies to use with struggling student"  C Roden
