Shifting Your Training and Facilitation Online

30 April 2020
ONLINE

This webinar is one of a suite of four that has been designed specifically to assist those RTOs now looking for strategies to improve their online teaching and assessment offerings.

Take a proactive approach to building an engaging online environment by selecting one or more of these webinars from our Going Online special event.

About this webinar

Trainers comfortable with applying a range of training and facilitation techniques in  face to face learning presentations and activities are well placed to adapt to facilitation in virtual classrooms for both VET and HE course delivery.

Awareness of the absence of usual cues – body language, posture, eye contact, attitude – requires strategies to monitor, build and sustain engagement – supports that adaption to ensure a mix of knowledge and participative learning experiences.

In this webinar, we’ll explore a range of approaches to facilitating activities including brainstorming, scenarios, problem solving, instruction, student presentations and peer feedback, role play, and utilising guest speakers.

Key topics covered within the webinar

This webinar will cover the following key topics:

  • Analysing existing teaching skills for an online environment
  • Strategies to keep students connected and contributing to activities in a virtual classroom.
  • Evaluating the range of facilitation tools available to find the best fit for your cohort and qualification.
  • Effective planning and management techniques to maintain session flow.
  •  Understanding the pros and cons of a virtual classroom environment by identifying strategies to overcome their limitations.
