Policies and Procedures for Managing COVID-19

6 July 2020
ONLINE

RTOs have been transitioning their training and assessment to manage the implications and restrictions associated with COVID-19. Students, employees and places of work are all impacted by social distancing, working from home arrangements, health and safety requirements etc, but now that we have our core functions in place, we need to ensure we have our policies and procedures for managing COVID-19 clearly articulated.

The federal and state Governments have been saying that as lockdown restrictions are eased in the coming months, organisations will still have to use social distancing and hygiene practices for a considerable period of time and these may become common protocol. In addition, organisations will need to have a plan in place on how they will manage any outbreaks if they occur.

There is much information circulating through Government departments and the media, and these are essential, but they are guidelines that need to be turned into a formal, work-ready policy and procedures. Having this array of Government information contained in a set of policies and procedures will simplify the steps needed to be taken by an RTO. This will ensure that all appropriate actions are sequenced and written in a style that can be easily understood by both staff and students.

Join Mark Long as he unpacks and provides examples of what needs to be contained in your RTO’s COVID-19 policies and procedures.
