Trainer Currency & Vocational Capability

26 August 2020
ONLINE

The standards for RTOs place a responsibility on all trainers and assessors to maintain their industry subject matter expertise along with their vocational capability.

While formalised professional development contributes to this process, involvement in industry forums, projects and communities of practice provide rich opportunities for building currency.

Reflective thinking from these experiences should promote new opportunities for innovative approaches to industry training that contribute to continuous improvement for the RTO and trainers/assessors alike.

Join Mick Gwyther for this must-see webinar to unpack the differences between industry and vocational competency, and explore strategies to maintain and demonstrate your currency.

Build a new understanding of your PD Plan and use critical reflection to evaluate your experiences to improve teaching and learning and initiate new approaches!

Key topics covered within the webinar

  • Industry currency vs vocational competency
  • Strategies to maintain and demonstrate currency
  • Developing a PD plan as a formal strategy for currency
  • Using critical reflection to evaluate strategies and experiences
  • Improve teaching and learning and initiating new approaches.
