Virtual Training: VET Online Teaching Tool Options

31 March 2021
ONLINE

The March 31st event has now reached capacity.

What is virtual training?

We want to ensure you have access to interactive experiences that will reinforce your practices in a simulated workshop environment. Virtual Training provides the capacity for longer, more in-depth content so you can build a rich connection to the featured topic.

Great content and activity-based interaction with our VET Experts, from the comfort of your home office.

About this Virtual Training Workshop

Are you looking for some ideas about how to use technology to improve your training experience for your students? Not sure about the tools available to enhance your classroom and eLearning programs? This interactive Virtual Training workshop goes beyond selecting a Learning Management System (LMS)!

It will focus on software options that can be used to enhance experiences within any LMS or to develop stand-alone resources that can be used in a blended delivery model.

Damian Noud, a Guru of eLearning, will provide an overview of the tools of the future for teaching VET that are available, organised into four focus areas:

  • Interactive Presentations
  • Video Production and Editing
  • Webinar Delivery
  •  Feedback and Evaluation

Within each focus area, Damian will take you on an exploration of multiple leading products used in teaching VET  by unpacking the benefits of using the product, how it works, and how much it costs.

The highlighted products will include H5P, Screencast-O-Matic and a multitude of more recently launched products that are capturing attention from proactive RTOs seeking to provide the best eLearning experiences for their students. We will also identify a couple of rarely used features within Zoom that provide great value for participants.

Although it isn’t mandatory, it is recommended that attendees have a laptop computer or tablet available so they can explore the functionality of some of the products during the session. This can be the same device with which you are participating in the workshop. A smartphone is the next best alternative. Be prepared to participate in an interactive session.

During the workshop, you will have a chance to play with some of the tools that are being used now to improve the experiences of students inside and outside classrooms. In break-out groups, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their own experiences and learn from the experiences of others!

The objective is that participants will walk away from this session with a better understanding of what is available, and a short-list of software options they can confidently implement to improve the training journey of their students.
