The Learning & Teaching (L&T) context is increasingly complex, multi-faceted, and delivered via multi-modes and media. As educators, trainers and assessors, we all have to come to terms with the new reality – that Video has become the dominant means of online communication.

With more than 82% of all online communication being via Video, as an Educator - academic and/or professional - how you come across on screen will shape the perceptions not only of your own credibility, but also the credibility of your L&T content, materials, and value. Perception is (as they say) indeed ‘reality’.

So, even if you “…hate presenting to-camera”, you no longer have a choice. You are going to need to do something about getting comfortable and confident with the Video medium, in order to:

• remain academically and professionally credible and relevant
• maximise the value of the medium for the L&T context
•  boost the quality of your online engagement - with students and staff
