Conducting a Self-Assessment Against the Standards for RTOs 2015

15 June 2017
Brisbane

Standard 2  (Clause 2.1) of the Standards for RTOs 2015 requires an RTO to ensure it complies with these Standards at all times, including where services are being delivered on its behalf. This applies to all operations of an RTO within its scope of registration. This workshop will present participants with relevant tools and provide a model for conducting their own self-assessment within their RTO to identify non-compliances and prioritise these for action. This will include an in-depth look at standards where frequent non-compliances are identified, including a discussion about their intent and purpose of each clause, the evidence to look for and the questions to ask. Participants will be challenged with considering different scenarios and engaging in discussion about these with each other before reporting their findings. This will be a fast-paced workshop involving robust discussion, so get ready to strap in and hold on!

How the training could be improved

"The day could have run longer to cover the content towards the end. We were a bit rushed in the final hour. I wouldn't have minded another hour or two at the workshop to learn more."
H. Jorey-Hughes - Linked 2

"Very good training, could have done with a bit more time to fully cover everything."
G. Taylor - Department of Agriculture

"Could have focused on the harder to understand clauses of the standards. Some we went through were easy to understand from an RTO's perspective."
P. Benson - IRT College
