This webinar is fourth of five available during Velg Training's dedicated Focus Week: Assessment Tools & Practices

About this webinar

Master the art of designing adaptable and authentic workplace practical assessments for your VET program.

Observation of workplace performance is probably the most authentic way to assess a learner’s competence, but it can be tricky to design them in a way that ensures assessment is flexible and contextualized to the workplace and job role.

In this brand-new insightful webinar that is part of our Focus Week, explore innovative strategies for creating observation assessment instruments that accommodate diverse contexts and environments.

You will look at how to develop work-based practical observation assessment instruments and consider how design can truly support assessor contextualisation while maintaining reliability so that assessment decisions remain consistent regardless of the assessor or the workplace context.

Delve into the resources required, workplace tasks to be assessed, and the development of clear instructions for both learners and assessors. In this session you will also review workplace practical observation assessments that will help you visualise the concepts discussed.

Empower your VET assessments to provide real-world readiness!

Key topics covered within the webinar

  • Identifying the resources required to conduct the assessment.
  • Identifying workplace tasks to be completed during assessment.
  • Developing clear and detailed instructions for learners about what they will need to do, and how they will be assessed.
  • Developing clear and detailed instructions for assessors to set up and implement the assessment, including working with employers to gather workplace documents and arranging and confirming resources and appropriate timing of assessment.
