The Do's and Don'ts of Observation Checklists

3rd June 2026
Online via Zoom Webinar

This webinar forms one of six sessions in our Master Mentoring: Assessment series. Want to explore the full series? Click here.

Webinar overview

Review any ASQA summary over time on audit performance and invariably, the issue of providers not adequately capturing evidence of performance will arise.

Most assessment tools rely on observation checklists however these are not always designed in ways that allow assessors to capture valid, reliable evidence during skills demonstrations.

In this session, we look at:

  • What makes an observation checklist an observation checklist
  • Factors that undermine the compliance of the tool
  • How to execute reliability within your observation checklist
  • Common errors in checklist design - and how to avoid them

The intent of these sessions is to give tips and pointers about the things that add value to the quality of your assessment tools, and what to avoid because it undermines quality and compliance.

Register for this session on its own, or as part of the entire Assessment Tool Master Series.
