Velg Training and ACPET have come together to provide trainers and assessors with the opportunity to participate in affordable, quality professional development during the National VET PD Week.

This webinar is part of the  National VET PD Week program.

About this webinar

This webinar is designed to help Vocational Education and Training (VET) Trainers and Assessors gain a clearer understanding of common issues that arise in competency-based assessment (CBA). It will provide attendees with an opportunity to update their knowledge and skills on five challenges faced by Trainers and Assessors in VET.

Key topics covered within webinar

  • Understanding and applying the principles of assessment and the rules of evidence
  • Defining "satisfactory" responses through well-developed marking guides
  • Knowing how and why to map assessment tools
  • Pitching assessment activities at the correct AQF level
  • Understanding what is, and what isn't, a reasonable adjustment to assessment processes and tools

All Velg Training webinars are scheduled in AEST (QLD time).  Please check your corresponding time zone.  However, if you are  unable to attend the scheduled live session, register for the event and within 48 hours of the session close you will be sent:

Carol Hunter has spent over twenty years working in both operational and strategic roles in VET.  She is the Principal of RTO Services and Consulting.  She has held positions as Director Training Quality and Regulation, Department of Education and Training ; Manager, Audit Services, Training Quality and Regulation, Department of Education and Training (Queensland); Manager, Training Secretariat to Training and Employment Recognition Council and Training Employment Board ; Faculty Director Logan TAFE  and various other VET positions in apprenticeships, curriculum, teaching etc.

Carol has used her experience in assisting a range of stakeholders develop contextually appropriate best practice applications and solutions in a variety of VET domains. She has also worked in operational roles in both public and private RTOs, in policy and curriculum development; and as a secondary school teacher.
