About this webinar

This session will discuss and clarify definitions of an assessment tool and an assessment instrument. It will explore the ideal characteristics of an assessment tool as detailed in the former National Quality Council publication, “Guide for Developing Assessment Tools’ (2009). It will take a close look at how the principles of assessment and the rules of evidence apply in the development of assessment tools. Finally, the session will consider quality assurance activities that should be undertaken before the assessment tools are actually used.
