Focus Week: Quality Control vs Quality Review

21 March 2018
ONLINE

This webinar is one of five available during Velg Training's dedicated Focus Week - Assessment.   The webinars that form the Focus Week are designed to focus particular attention on how assessment is both developed and administered, ensuring a focal point on the continual improvement of these practices.

About this webinar

Standard 1.8 requires Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to implement an effective assessment system. There are many processes that can be incorporated into an assessment system, one such process being moderation of assessment.

Moderation creates a great opportunity for trainers and assessors to use a process to discuss and align their assessment decisions prior to making their final assessment judgement - a true  quality control process.

It is also an excellent Professional Development opportunity for trainers and assessors to pro-actively analyse assessment decisions prior to making the final judgement.

Its timing, well before the required systematic validation of assessment, has the potential to ensure the assessors' final judgement is accurate and supported by their peers.

Key topics covered within the webinar

  • Moderation, a quality control process with long and successful history
  • Moderation and Validation compared and their benefits explored
  • Do I have a choice in which one I do?
  • Recording moderation outcomes and their impact on future quality of assessment
