Pitfalls in Assessment Design and Development

10 October 2018
ONLINE

Are your assessment materials pitfall free?

Consistently one of the most challenging aspects for RTOs to ‘get right’, assessment is the crux of accredited training. Why then, is this fundamental element of vocational education so difficult to master?

When it comes to designing how evidence of competency will be collected and judged, assessment development needs to ensure all the right boxes can be ticked.

Join Michelle Charlton as she discusses some of the more common pitfalls in assessment design and development, and find out if your RTO needs to avoid any traps.

Key topics covered within the webinar

  • Basic principles of designing and developing compliant assessment
  • Understanding the competing demands of an assessment's purpose
  • Assessing assessment tools by others
  • Designing a tool that meets requirements
  • Q&A

At the end of the session, participants should be able to answer the question: "What makes a 'good' assessment tool?", and be able to identify (and avoid!) common pitfalls in the design and development process.
