What will be covered within the webinar

Assessment Quality, seems to be somewhat a buzz-word across the VET sector in recent months. ASQA’s audit process has always been assessment centric, and they have in the past stated that “Assessment is the gatekeeper of quality in the VET sector”. So with an undeniable impetus for Quality assessment (tools & practices) within the VET sector, why do we continue to see such high numbers for assessment compliance (75% non compliant) for RTOs audited.

This webinar looks to paint a picture of what “quality” is, in respect of vocational assessment, and also present a clear model, clarifying the impact of poor quality. From this context we will review the Rules of Evidence and Principles of Assessment to conclude why they are relevant and how practices such as these and assessment validation, contribute to the greater good of assessment quality.

Rob Bright

Business Owner – not an RTO

Rob is the Founder and Managing Director of Cloud Assess, the leading Vocational Education and Training (VET) industry aligned software solution for Assessment and Training.

Initially an engineer in the manufacturing industry, he has a strong background in process, operational and quality management. He became a Project Manager, developing and implementing operational improvement initiatives and cost saving projects across a large multi-national corporation.

Stemming from this experience, Rob consulted internationally in an efficiency and operational management context. Working with iconic brands such as QANTAS and BHP Billiton he provided consulting advice on behalf of the Australian Federal Government.

Rob’s passion for training and personal development has seen him involved extensively with the VET sector over the past decade. As a qualified Trainer and Assessor, his career has seen him Register and Manage RTOs including qualifying for funding contracts.

Rob’s experience has been enriched at a hands-on level ranging from running apprenticeship programs and managing school based apprentices, through to developing training and assessment resources for his own RTO which he sold in 2015.

It was whilst running his last RTO, that Rob recognised the shortfall for a fit-for-purpose Online Assessment Solution for the VET sector, and so Cloud Assess was born.
