Recorded on 23/07/2025 this webinar explored how RTOs identified LLND requirements of students prior to enrolment and examined the new obligations around providing advice on training product suitability. From 1 July, RTOs were required to have in place a procedure to review prospective students’ skills and competencies (including language, literacy and numeracy proficiency and digital literacy) to enable provision of advice to prospective students about the suitability of the training product.

RTOs were expected to tailor how they assessed prospective students' skills and gave advice based on the type of course, their setup, and the cohort of students, ensuring the approach was suitable for the situation.

Angela McGregor from RTO Consulting led this 90-minute session, exploring the requirement in depth. She took participants through misconceptions, obligations, and practices for RTOs to not only meet compliance but also ensure students were not enrolled into training products that did not meet their needs.
