Continuous Improvement

RTOs should have a system for how they will pinpoint and action opportunities for continuous improvement of their operations.

Training Package Development

When Training Packages are developed and/or maintained, various organisations are involved in the process to ensure occupational skills are delivered to the particular standards required by specific industries.

Training Products

Training Products are the items that an RTO lists on its scope of registration. They are what the RTO is registered to deliver, assess and issue AQF documentation for.

Training - Standards 1.1 and 1.2

Standards 1.1 and 1.2 relate to the focus area of training.

Qualifications

As one part of the endorsed component of a Training Package, qualifications are a group of Units of Competency ‘packaged’ together as the requirement for working in a particular industry role at a specific level. A qualification is also the official documentation recognising competency in all of the units specific to a particular grouping of units.

Human Resources

Employees are an organisation’s biggest asset. Ways to responsibly and effectively manage human resources are critical for any business – including RTOs.

Quality Area 2: VET Student Support

Quality Area 2 comprises five focus areas and eight standards that go to the supports provided by RTOs to enable VET students to succeed in their training.

VET Workforce Management - Standard 3.1

Standard 3.1 relates to the focus area of VET workforce management.

Third Party Arrangements

RTOs are responsible for all services delivered on their behalf, therefore should have written third-party or partnership agreements in place to monitor all parties’ compliance with the Standards.

Training Support - Standards 2.3 and 2.4

Standards 2.3 and 2.4 relate to the focus area of training support.

VET Quality Framework (VQF) - Australia wide

The VET Quality Framework (VQF) is a set of standards and conditions used by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national VET regulator, to assess whether registered training organisations (RTOs) under its jurisdiction meet the requirements for registration. To obtain and retain registration, RTOs must comply with each of the elements and their associated components.

Recognition of prior learning and credit transfer - Standard 1.6 and 1.7

Standard 1.6 and 1.7 relates to the focus area of recognition of prior learning and credit transfer.
