Outcome Standards

The Outcome Standards set out the key elements of quality training and assessment, which organisations must demonstrate to be registered, and maintain registration, as a training provider.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The aim of RPL is to formally recognise existing competencies without having to go through the complete training process.

Self-Assurance

Self-assurance refers to how RTOs manage their operations to ensure that there is a focus on quality, continuous improvement and ongoing compliance

Learner Wellbeing

RTOs must identify student wellbeing needs based on their context and ensure appropriate, informed access to support services throughout training.

Recognition of prior learning and credit transfer - Standard 1.6 and 1.7

Standard 1.6 and 1.7 relates to the focus area of recognition of prior learning and credit transfer.

Training Package Development

When Training Packages are developed and/or maintained, various organisations are involved in the process to ensure occupational skills are delivered to the particular standards required by specific industries.

Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS)

A TAS is a framework that identifies the structure for the way in which a training product is delivered to learners and the way assessment will occur.

Certification

Certification is formal confirmation of a person’s competency, this means there must be steps taken to maintain the integrity of an RTO’s processes for issuing this official documentation.

Complaints and Appeals

All RTOs should have a policy and procedures in place for how they will deal with feedback, complaints and appeals.

Training Design

Effective training design and delivery are crucial for engaging diverse students, accommodating varied learning styles, and developing practical skills and competencies.

Division 3 - Accountability

Division 3 of the Compliance Standards outline requirements related to transparency, financial security, and legal compliance that an RTO must meet at all times.

Training Packages

Designed to be industry and sector skills specific, Training Packages are an integrated set of nationally endorsed Units of Competency, AQF qualifications and assessment guidelines that outline the expected outcomes of training.
