Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS)

A TAS is a framework that identifies the structure for the way in which a training product is delivered to learners and the way assessment will occur.

Delivery of Training and Engaging Learners

Effective training engagement techniques are critical to ensure training is relevant to a range of diverse students, accommodating varied learning styles, to help them progress through their program.

Training Support - Standards 2.3 and 2.4

Standards 2.3 and 2.4 relate to the focus area of training support.

Quality Area 1: Training and Assessment

Quality Area 1 comprises 4 focus areas and 8 standards that go to the quality of training and assessment delivered by RTOs.

Working Under Direction

The Standards use the term “direction” to describe the arrangement where a person is working under the responsibility of a qualified trainer or assessor. It applies when a person does not yet hold the required credentials to deliver training or make assessment judgements.

Division 2 - Integrity of Nationally Recognised Training Products

Division 2 of the Compliance Requirements outline requirements for the issuing and recording of nationally recognised training products that an RTO must meet at all times.

Schedule 2 - Nationally Recognised Training Logo (NRT Logo) Conditions of Use Policy

Schedule 2 - Nationally Recognised Training Logo (NRT Logo) Conditions of Use Policy outline the strict conditions for the use of the NRT logo.

Government Organisations

Aside from regulators, researchers and approval and/or governing bodies, there are government organisations with responsibility to implement and uphold the quality delivery of vocational training.

VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans is the loan system under which eligible students can access selected higher level Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications.

Safe and Inclusive Learning

An inclusive and safe learning environment supports learner engagement, removes barriers to participation, and promotes equity across the training journey.

Credit Transfer and Articulation Arrangements

Credit transfer is the process of awarding a student credit for learning outcomes they already have achieved.

Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence

The Principles of Assessment and the Rules of Evidence guide assessors in making consistent, justifiable decisions about a student’s competency, regardless of their delivery context or learning pathway.
