Early Changes to the Current Standards for RTOs (2024)

Given the implementation date of January 2025 for the revised Standards for RTOs, Skills Ministers have agreed to progress some changes to the current Standards in advance of the broader revisions.

What has the recent Amendment Instrument done to the current standards?

Recorded on the 18th of March 2024, Velg Training walked attendees through the recent changes to the Standards effective 1st March 2024.

The revised Standards released (March 2025)

The legislative instruments which give effect to the revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations are now in place.

The Reading Guarantee (2024)

The Grattan report calls on all Australian state and territory governments, and Catholic and independent school sector leaders, to commit to a six-step ‘Reading Guarantee’.

Preparing for the revised Standards (2024)

Revisions to the Standards for Registered Training Organisations

The revised Standards will come into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 will apply until then.
