The TAS Trilogy: Let your TAS tell the story (Webinar Series)

17, 24 & 31 August 2022
ONLINE via Zoom Webinar

Most commonly, ASQA finds that RTOs’ TASs:

• do not provide an accurate or sufficiently detailed framework for delivery and assessment
• are not adapted to meet the needs of target groups
• do not align with the RTO's delivery and assessment practices

So, why do we keep getting it wrong?

Training and Assessment Strategies are commonly developed to add Training Products to scope or reviewed reactively in preparation for an audit.

However, they need to be monitored and reviewed in a systematic way to ensure they reflect what’s going on!

In this brand-new, 3-part series Angela McGregor will guide you through the key components of the TAS and provide real-world guidance to assist you in creating TAS documents that are meaningful, compliant and reflect actual practices. The sessions have been designed to help take the ‘what’ and ‘why’ out of documenting the TAS and to highlight the areas that are commonly non-compliant.

17 August 2022 - 11:00am - 12:00pm (AEST)

24 August 2022- 11:00am - 12:00pm (AEST)

31 August 2022- 11:00am - 12:00pm (AEST)

Your TAS is a roadmap for the courses you have on offer at your RTO. It is usually the first thing to be scrutinised by auditors! This means the level of detail is critical.

So, what are the minimum requirements? What information is used to inform our Strategies and how should we record them?

In the first installment of the TAS TRILOGY you will be provided with advice, hints and tips about starting off on the right foot with your Training and Assessment Strategy.
Your TAS is a fundamental guide for your trainers and assessors, a source of information for marketing and an important map for enrolment officers.

This means it is crucial that the TAS provides enough detail so that anyone can pick it up and understand who the strategy is for, what students might need to have prior to enrolment, and the amount of training that is involved in the course.

In the second instalment of the TAS TRILOGY, Angela will draw on her years of experience to share the 'informing' components of your TAS.
The RTO is required to review each TAS and ensure it reflects current practices. Failure to update the strategy can result in non-compliances across a range of connected clauses.

Things change during the lifespan of a TAS! Training packages, the trainers, the delivery order/schedule or even the assessment methods.

In the third and final instalment of the TAS TRILOGY, Angela will give you clear direction about what to focus on to ensure your TAS depicts how things are genuinely happening and reflects actual practice.
