Corrections Subject Matter Experts Needed
The Offender Engagement and Dog Handler projects have commenced, and the Corrections Industry Reference Committee is forming Technical Advisory Committees for each.
Industry expertise and insight is welcome to help review and develop Training Package material to:
- Update four Units of Competency and develop a new Offender Engagement Skill Set to equip correctional services officers with the skills to enhance engagement and support with offenders
- Review seven Units of Competency and develop two new Skill Sets and one new Unit of Competency for the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice. The project seeks to ensure that Corrections Officers are capable of effectively handling dogs within state and territory corrections jurisdictions to improve the safety and security of prisons where dogs are employed
