National Consultation Forums for Major Maritime Project

National Consultation Forums for Major Maritime Project image

The Maritime Industry Reference Committee is commencing Phase Three of the MAR Maritime Training Package Project. This project incorporates the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) certification requirements into Maritime qualifications.

In addition, it includes the development of an Electro Technical Officer qualification and four Skill Sets.

Phase Three of the project will ensure seafarers will have met all certification requirements and prepare them for the final AMSA assessment, prior to AMSA issuing the seafarer with a Certificate of Competency or Proficiency.

In addition, to minimise the number of Training Package Releases, Phase Three will also include the following approved Cases for Change:

  • Skill Sets Case for Change
  • Electro-Technical Officer Case for Change

National Maritime Consultation Forums

Consultation Forums will be held across Australia from 26 June to 13 July 2018. These forums are the opportunity to gain further insight into this project and provide your input.
