Consideration of the volume of learning when developing your TAS is one way to ensure your training will provide your learner cohort with the best opportunity to develop the required skills and knowledge.
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), which is part of the VET Quality Framework, provides a guide to the Volume of Learning required for each qualification type. Additionally, Clause 1.2 of the Standards for RTOs 2015 requires the RTO to determine the amount of training they will provide to each learner. When developing the Training and Assessment Strategy, careful consideration needs to be given to the background of each cohort when determining the amount of training as a component of the overall Volume of Learning.
