Let's Reflect ....

Let's Reflect .... image

Our role as trainers and assessors requires continual engagement within the vocational education sphere as well as the maintenance of knowledge and skills within our individual fields of expertise.   But, what is the difference between the two and how can we build upon this currency?

Maintaining currency can be a challenge as we strive to continually apply our own maintained learning and experiences across the training and assessment approaches that we practice on a daily basis.

While formalised professional development can contribute to this process, it's the involvement in industry forums, projects and communities of practice that provide rich opportunities for building currency.

Reflective thinking from these experiences should promote new opportunities for innovative approaches to training, presenting us with the space to evaluate and ultimately contribute continuously improved training and assessment practices.

On Wednesday 26 August, Mick Gwyther will not only present a clear distinction between the two currency expectations of trainers and assessors, but will also build upon a new understanding of your own professional development plan, and use critical reflection to explore and evaluate strategies for maintaining and demonstrating currency.
