New Report from the Australian Productivity Commission
The report focuses on productivity growth which is the main long-term driver of growth in Australian incomes and living standards. Government policies and regulations affect productivity growth and the report highlights how Australia’s performance in various sectors has been affected by different factors, including those associated with the education and development of the Australian people.
Particularly relevant to Velg Training members and VET practitioners, section 3.3 on page 92 of the report, addresses the need for confidence and stability in the VET system, and acknowledges the important, yet complex role played by the VET sector. Further, discussion is had over the introduction of a proficiency-based assessment system over the current competency-based method.
