Skills Development Workshops from the AIS

Skills Development Workshops from the AIS image

Overview

Australian Industry Standards (AIS) is an independent, not-for-profit Skills Service Organisation (SSO) that develops nationally recognised vocational qualifications across a range of Australian industries.

AIS is holding free workshops around the country. These workshops are aimed at fostering a clearer understanding of the Training Package development process and how you can be involved.

They build on the highly successful AIS Skills Forum held in August this year. This event focused on the new wave of disrupters that will have a significant impact on the skills required by industry.

AIS works with 11 Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) to develop skills standards for the energy, aviation, transport and logistics, maritime, rail, water, public safety, police, fire, defence and corrections sectors.

The focus at AIS is on supporting industry to develop high quality qualifications for their workforce. These workshops will give participants the opportunity to share ideas on strategies for meeting workforce skills needs now and into the future.

The first of these national workshops will be held in Melbourne on 30 November and Perth on 7 December 2017. Details on other workshops will be communicated shortly.

This is your chance to engage in skills development for the industries that AIS supports.

What can you expect from this event:

  • An overview of the National VET system and Training Package development process
  • Insights into industry workforce trends
  • Opportunities to engage in the skills development process
  • Round table discussion on emerging skills needs
