Blog: Our Response to COVID-19

Blog: Our Response to COVID-19 image

With an increase in uncertainty arising due to COVID-19, Velg Training is focused on implementing significant planning and prevention to ensure our staff and their families’ health and well-being remains of paramount importance.

Although our face-to-face interactions with our clients is limited, our close-knit team is in constant communication and contact. For this reason, we have provided antibacterial hand sanitiser to each staff as well as dispensers in communal areas. We have also increased the intensity of our onsite cleaning to include daily disinfecting of all communal areas and work stations. At this stage, we believe it is our duty of care to protect our staff and reduce risk.

Can we work remotely?

Fortunately, Velg Training has always ensured a positive work/life balance for our team, therefore creating opportunity for flexibility and remote work as an option under normal circumstances. Consequently, our team is able to utilise these steps so transition to work remotely if required by Government mandate with no interruption to services and support to our Vocational Education and Training community.

Will online events be affected?

Our Vision to Educate, Inspire and Empower the Vocational Education and Training (VET) community will not waiver and our commitment to provide quality, flexible and innovative products and services to you will not be affected during this time.

As part of our ongoing process to offer you the most advanced webinar technology, our shift to the Zoom platform has heightened our ability to deliver webinars remotely without interruption. Zoom has also enabled our team to conduct meetings and interactions remotely, proving the indispensable value of this online platform.

Velg2Go has been built within the Canvas Learning Management System: a simple and easy to use interface that has revolutionised our delivery of exclusive online content with cutting-edge interaction with our course facilitators. Consequently, course delivery will not be affected.

How about face-to-face events?

At this stage Velg Training has no plans to cancel any face-to-face events. Of course, however, we are conscious that in this current climate there could be a need for us to act swiftly. Rest assured alternative arrangements have been underway to secure alternative options if necessary (we envisage that if a state or national mandate occurs in relation to events of all types, our signature events will simply be transferred to a later date in the year).

Our responsibility for the continued health and safety of you, our VET community is crucial and this proactive planning is to ensure our commitment to you is not disrupted.
