VET's Role in Transforming the Future ....

In 2022, the 31st National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Research Conference 'No Frills' will be hosted in person! 

'No Frills' provides an opportunity for networking and idea-sharing in a friendly and informal atmosphere with a cross-section of industry representatives, practitioners, researchers and policymakers.

The conference will be held in Melbourne from Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 July 2022. 

The first day, Wednesday 6 July, will be dedicated to optional pre-conference PD workshops and the welcome reception. The rest of the program will feature thought-provoking keynote and concurrent sessions, popular and lively Q&A sessions, and the conference dinner.

Some sessions will also be live-streamed on 7-8 July 2022 for those unable to attend in person.

Recordings of these sessions will also be available on-demand for all attendees after the conference.

Call for abstracts

The conference theme is VET’s role in transforming the future.

The VET sector has responded well to the COVID-19 pandemic, but how can it continue to support Australia’s economic recovery and respond to Australia's shifting future skill demands?

Presentations that explore issues relating to the ways VET is adapting, anticipating and activating change in response to shifting future skill demands are invited and may focus on a range of topic areas such as:

• Positioning VET as the key to workforce transformation for shaping the future
• Delivering future skills now - impact on training practice
• Innovative RTO-industry partnerships to assist employee adaptation to changing technologies
• Accelerating student pathways in VET to rapidly upskill for the future economy
• Adapting VET for Secondary School Students for developing the workforce of the future
• Transforming the VET and Higher Education interface
• VET's role in transitioning industries subject to disruption or change
• Role of VET in empowering disadvantaged learners to become future leaders in their field
• The importance of VET in COVID-19 recovery for promoting collective health and wellbeing.

Submissions are open until Tuesday, 1 March 2022 and are invited from all parts of the VET sector, including industry, government, practitioners, peak bodies, and researchers.
