Are You Ready to Create an Engaging Learning Experience? image

Marc Ratcliffe's amazing 8-part Master Mentoring series focuses on Transforming Your Training and Assessment.

Comprising a range of 90-minute webinars, this Master Mentoring Program goes beyond the basics of TAE to help you unlock your true training and assessment potential and has been designed for Trainers, Assessors and Resource Developers

With the first two sessions presented in May, let's take a look at what Marc will be presenting during the second two sessions in June ....

Session 3: Creating engaging learning - 11.00am-12.30pm

Using a participant-centered approach, this session examines how trainers can use involvement, interaction and collaboration to maximise learning outcomes and help learners to stay focused and ‘present’ during training.  It will also explore specific examples aimed at boosting interactivity and will share innovative techniques for reinforcing key content, through the use of object lessons and props.  The session will:

  • discuss how participant-centered training can be used to drive engagement
  • identify the building blocks for creating engaging learning both online and offline
  • cover the importance of C.O.R.E. (Closers, Openers, Revisiters and Energisers)
  • explore 12 C.O.R.E. examples that can be applied to boost interaction
  • show how to implement object lessons to powerfully reinforce key training messages
  • identify props that can be used to effectively anchor content.

Session 4: Managing the learning experience - 2.00-3.30pm

This session focuses specifically on supporting trainers to better manage these different variables to create a more successful and enjoyable learning experience for students.  The session will:

  • determine methods for managing learner collaboration
  • support learners to manage their own learning
  • identify key techniques to manage space more effectively within a face-to-face training environment
  • apply simple time management tools within training
  • identify 11 ways to manage difficult student behaviours
  • explore 5 methods to use Power Point to emphasise and reinforce training content.
