Across 11 weeks, Velg Training has made a commitment to ‘Build Quality in VET’ by offering professional development opportunities at affordable webinar rates. The series ‘Providing Evidence of TAE Currency’ is hosted by John Price and aims to help trainers identify the types of evidence they should be keeping to demonstrate currency against TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

The sessions are not RPL workshops however they will provide participants with valuable information around the types of evidence that should be collected for TAE currency and which may then be of use in an RPL application.

This week on Friday 23 June 2017, John will take participants through TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes. This unit is in its second release and supersedes the previous TAEASS401B. This is a non-equivalent unit and this session will have information on understanding the new unit requirements.

In the coming weeks, the series will also address information specific to the new core units within TAE40116.

  • Friday 30 June 2017 will focus on TAEASS502 – Design and develop assessment tools
  • Friday 21 July 2017 will examine TAELLN411 – Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

Practicing trainers and assessors must be able to show currency, and this includes in the non-equivalent and new core units to the qualification.   The key concepts of each unit of competency will be discussed, outlining significant content to take note of, any evidence that can be gathered towards currency, and other activities that can be undertaken by trainers and assessors to contribute to meeting the requirement of Clause 1.13c from the Standards for RTOs 2015 in relation to currency for the delivery of training and assessment.
