Brand New Trainer & Assessor Workshop in Sydney

Brand New Trainer & Assessor Workshop in Sydney image

On Wednesday 19 July 2017 John Price will cast a SPOTLIGHT on Trainer and Assessor Currency.  This workshop is designed to highlight some of what makes for a professional VET trainer and assessor.

Characteristics of high performing trainers and assessors include their ability to develop and maintain their skills knowledge and experience in their vocational content area as well as their knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs their training and assessment.

Compliance and quality requirements should never clash or attempt to promote themselves as one above the other. The professional approach that trainers and assessors have for their profession leads them into involvement in many quality activities that often exceed the requirements of compliance to the Standards. Yet the actual determination of the ‘what, where, when, and how’ of professional development is not always easy to define and consequently record.

A snapshot of the key topics included in the session are:

  • Interpreting relevant requirements of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 in a practical way
  • Discussing the range of professional development practices that occur as a natural component of training and assessment in a changing environment that can be used to meet these requirements
  • Determining a ‘best guess’ of where the VET industry is going and the opportunities through innovative practices to meet demands that may be placed on us
  • Determining simple and effective methods to record currency activities and provide this much sought-after evidence for compliance

To be involved and gain some clarity on what is needed to maintain professional development activities, and subsequently record the outcomes for both quality in delivery and assessment and compliance to the Standards, book today for this Sydney workshop.
